In Case of Difficulty
If you encounter a problem, please review the items in the following checklist. This guide will help you isolate the problem if the unit is at fault.
Otherwise, make sure the rest of your system is properly connected, or consult your authorized Alpine dealer.
System
Symptom Cause Solution
No operation Blown fuse. Replace with a fuse of the prescribed rating.
Ambient temperature over 50°C Lower the temperature in the vehicle below 50°C, for
example by running for a while with the window open or
by using the air conditioner.
Moisture condensation Allow enough time for the condensation to evaporate
(about 1 hour).
Vehicle’s ignition is off. If connected according to the instructions, the unit will
not operate with the vehicle’s ignition off.
No function or display Improper power lead connections. Check power lead connections. (See page 140.)
Internal micro-computer malfunctioned due to
interference noise, etc.
Press the RESET switch with a ballpoint pen or other
pointed article. (See page 17.)
Screen off mode is activated. Cancel Screen off mode. (See page 22.)
No sound or unnatural sound. Incorrect setting of volume/balance/fader
controls.
Readjust the controls. (See pages 18, 116.)
Connections are not properly or securely made. Check the connections and firmly connect. (See
page 140.)
Screen not displayed. Brightness/Contrast control is set to the
minimum position.
Adjust the Brightness/Contrast control. (See page 118.)
Temperature in the vehicle is too low. Increase the vehicle’s interior temperature to operation
temperature range.
The mode is different from the desired source. Touch the desired source to change the mode. (See
page 56.)
The Parking Brake Lead is not connected. Connect the Parking Brake Lead, then engage the
Parking Brake. (See page 140.)
The Parking Brake is not engaged.
There is no image or sound. AV Off mode is active. Deactivate the AV Off mode. (See page 56.)
Cable connection is incomplete. Complete connection. (See page 140.)
Movement of displayed picture is
abnormal.
Temperature in the vehicle is too high. Allow the vehicle’s interior temperature to cool.
Unable to operate because the
touch panel switchs are grayed
out.
Parking Brake Lead is not connected. Refer to “Connections”, and then connect the Lead
properly. (See page 140.)
Touch panel switches are not operational. Park your vehicle in a safe place and apply the parking
brake lever. Some functions may not be operational
depending on the situation and setting.
Cannot read disc is displayed for a
certain operation.
The disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
The pickup lens is dirty. Do not use a commercial available lens cleaner disc.
Consult your nearest ALPINE dealer.
Unable to save data. Ambient temperature over 50°C. Lower the temperature in the vehicle below 50°C, for
example by running for a while with the window open or
by using the air conditioner.
