Playing Mini-Disc (MD)

IVX-M706 has a built-in MD player. This section

describes operation assuming that an Alpine MD

player is connected.

(When the MDA-5051R is connected with the IVX-

C806/IVX-M706/CVA-1006R, MDs can only be

played back.)

1 Press the SOURCE button.

The main menu appears on the display.

2 Rotate the rotary encoder and select "MD" from

the main menu, then press the rotary encoder to

execute the selection.

The MD player mode screen appears on the

display.

When an MD is inserted into the MD SLOT of

the IVX-M706, with the label side up, the unit

starts to play the MD.

When an optional Alpine MD player is

connected, inserting an MD into the optional MD

player starts playback automatically.

NOTE

Before inserting an MD, use your finger to feel around

the MD cartridge. If you feel any small bumps or

irregularities, remove them because these may cause a

malfunction or damage to the player.

3 Press the 2 (:/J) button to temporarily pause

play. To resume play, press the 2 (:/J) button

for a second time.

4 Press the eject (c) button when you want to

eject the MD. (If you use an optional MD player,

press the eject button on the optional MD player.)

NOTES (IVX-M706 only)

• The player accepts only one MD at a time for

playback. Do not attempt to load more than one MD.

• Before inserting an MD, make sure that the MD

cartridge is clean and not warped. If it is dirty, wipe it

clean as dust or dirt may cause a malfunction of the

player.

• Never touch the surface of the MD itself by opening

the shutter on the cartridge.

• Do not insert any MD with stacked labels or label

peeling off.

• Be sure to turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON

position before inserting an MD. Otherwise it may

cause damage to the player.

Music Sensor (Skip)

1 Momentarily press the 1 (g) button once to

return to the beginning of the current track. If you

wish to access the beginning of a track further

back, repeatedly press until you reach the

desired track.

2 Press the 3 (f) button once to advance to

the beginning of the next track. If you wish to

access the beginning of a track further ahead,

press repeatedly until the desired track is

reached.
