Listen Mode:
While receiving a live broadcast, the setting value is the same as
that in Listen Mode, refer to “Switching the listening mode” on
page 27.
Setting the TUNER (FM) tone quality
This unit can set your preferred tone quality for FM radio source.
Setting item: FM Tuner Setup
Setting contents:
Hi-Fi / Normal (Initial setting) / Stable
Hi-Fi:
High-quality setting
Normal:
Standard setting
Stable:
Control noise
Note
Noise may be more noticeable when Hi-Fi is set, depending on the
reception status. In this case, the Normal setting is recommended.
iPod&USB is selected on the setup main menu in step 2.
Setting the USB Skip function
During searching, you can skip over designated folders/files by pressing
and holding 1 2 for at least 2 seconds. For example, if you select
10File in the searching mode, by pressing and holding 1 you can skip
backward 10 folders/files from the current folder/file; by pressing and
holding 2 you can skip forward 10 folders/files from the current
folder/file. If the folders/files searched are less than the assigned
skipped-over ones, pressing and holding 1 2 will skip to the first or
last folder/file.

iPod/iPhone Search Mode Setting
The unit allows you to search for the iPod/iPhone using nine different
search modes.
Setting item: iPod List Setup

Audiobooks / Podcasts / Genres / Composers / Songs / Genius
Mixes
Setting contents:
OFF / ON
Notes
When the search mode is in Playlists/Artists/Albums/Podcasts/Genres/
Songs/Genius Mixes, the initial setting is On, and when the search
mode is in Audiobooks/Composers, the initial setting is Off.
For search mode details, refer to “Searching for a desired song” on
page 35.
Application is selected on the setup main menu in step 2.
Setting the communication mode with a
Smartphone (Alpine APP)
Set Alpine APP to USB when an iPhone is connected, or set to BT when
an Android Smartphone is paired.
Setting item: Alpine APP
Setting contents:
OFF / USB (Initial setting) / BT
OFF:
No Smartphone is connected.
USB:
When an iPhone is connected to CDE-HD149BT’s USB port, you
can enjoy Pandora program the unit’s sound tuning parameters,
or communicate with SNS.
BT:
Set this when an Android Smartphone is paired with this unit via
BLUETOOTH technology. At this time, you can enjoy Pandora,
program the unit’s sound tuning parameters, or communicate
with SNS.
Notes
After the above setting, turn the ignition key off (ACC OFF) and on
again (ACC ON).
For this function to work properly, specific applications must be
installed on your Smartphone before connection. Consult your Alpine
dealer or the Alpine web site for details.
Only the iPhone and certain Android Smartphones support this
function.
Setting the TTS (Text To Speech) volume
This function allows for readout of comments, etc., on a Smartphone,
and outputs sound from the speaker of the unit.
Setting item: TTS Volume

The initial volume level is 12.
